Hi! You're viewing an old feature page for bliss which may have outdated features and old screenshots. I've written a tour of bliss with more up to date features and screenshots. Please read that instead!

But if you must read on... go on, I'm not going to do anything horrible like automatically redirect you to the new pages. Honest...

Assess the filesystem location of your music files

bliss assesses the location of your music files against your file structure rule The rule describes how the structure of your music folder should appear, such as how artists and albums should be organised. When it finds music in the incorrect place, it offers to move the files for you (or does it automatically... your choice!).

Music file organisation rule - simple view

You can choose from three common rules for music file structure organisation, or create your own. Choose to organise by artist or album name and specify whether to include track numbers or not. You can even organise music files by the file type!

Uncompliant music files

Move music folders and files

With one click of the mouse, bliss moves the files and folders for an album to their correct location. It includes any other files you have stored with an album, such as sleeve notes, and clears up any empty folders to ensure your hard disc doesn't end up looking like Keith Richard's bedroom.

Once moved, bliss re-assesses the new location and reports the location of the moved files, and their adherence to your rules, including album art and other rules you may have configured.

MP3 renaming

Even if it's just the name of the MP3 file that is wrong or inconsistent, this can be as frustrating as folders being incorrect. bliss will rename files just as it moves folders.

Files, folders and directories moved automatically

Optionally, bliss will automatically move your files and folder for you. This can be useful in a large music collection, or if you are using bliss as a background always-on server and gradually adding new music.

Custom variables for file organisation pattern

Choose from many different variables in your rule

bliss allows you to organise your files by album name, artist name, track number, file extension and more. You can choose whether or how spaces are replaced, and whether numbers are padded with zeroes. All this to achieve a consistent and correct file structure for your music files!

Safe and secure

If duplicate files exist, bliss keeps both copies.
