Hi! You're viewing an old feature page for bliss which may have outdated features and old screenshots. I've written a tour of bliss with more up to date features and screenshots. Please read that instead!

But if you must read on... go on, I'm not going to do anything horrible like automatically redirect you to the new pages. Honest...

A little background...

Dan says... iTunes is a useful music player but it doesn't help make your music portable to other music players, like your MP3 player or your mobile phone. And what if you want to start using a new music player on your computer? You will have to transfer all the art manually. bliss does all this for you by embedding the art in the music files.

Can't transfer album art from iTunes to your MP3 player?

It's a common problem. By default, iTunes stores the album art for your music hidden internally in iTunes itself. This means your other MP3 players cannot access the art to display it. Result: missing album art. bliss can help you transfer the art by embedding it within your music files.

I have a portable MP3 player. How do I get album art to appear on it?

Portable MP3 players, like those manufactured by Sony, Sansa and the like, typically cannot see the album art in iTunes because iTunes hides it internally. When you transfer music to the MP3 player, only the music gets transferred.

The solution is to embed art using a tool like bliss. bliss will review art already stored in your music directories and then embed this inside the music files themselves. Because they are embedded inside the music files, your MP3 player can access and display the art.

bliss works on the music files in your iTunes library, but is independent of iTunes and can work with other music players too. bliss does not read the iTunes database, and so does not display album art already discovered in iTunes.

My portable MP3 player has a maximum album art size. How do I resize the album art to appear on it?

bliss automates this process. iTunes does not offer a way to resize album art. However, because album art size is just another 'rule' enforced by bliss on your music collection, you merely tell bliss that all of your art must be within the restrictions imposed by your MP3 player. Tell bliss, and sit back as your art is resized!
