Album art (also known as cover art) is the visual artwork distributed with a music release. Traditionally, this encompassed the artwork printed on the packaging of the music, for instance on the front of a CD case or LP sleeve. Album art continues to be distributed with digital music, but is packaged differently, as computer image files often embedded within the music files.
